What is the Virtual DOM?

The Virtual DOM is an abstraction of the real DOM. It is a JavaScript object that represents the UI elements in memory.

Instead of manipulating the real DOM directly, React updates the Virtual DOM first. This approach allows React to batch and optimize changes before applying them to the real DOM.

How React Uses the Virtual DOM
